admin answers:

Well, if you don’t have the money then you have some problems.
1. Work. Get a job.
2. Ask someone, maybe your parents, to give you a loan and you pay them back.

Joseph asks…

What should I bring to my Japan trip?

I am going to Japan for a month in July. I was wondering what you guys recommend I should bring? I am ordering stuff I need. Ex. plug adaptor and a train route map. So what should I bring? List as much as possible please.

admin answers:

I would suggest you take a small notepad and pen wherever you go, when I travelled there many Japanese people could read English but not understand it spoken (as they are not tought how to ‘speak’ it as such).

Another tip is make sure you keep some form of ID with you at all times as this is the law over there.

A tourist guide book would also be a good thing to buy, maybe the Rough Guides or Lonely Planet one as they have a lot of info abotu trains, busses and useful phrases as well as a lot of information about things to do.

I went there for 2 weeks in 2005 so if you want to ask me anything extra then send me an email through my site listed on my profile and I can help you some more :)

Sandy asks…

Trip to Japan! however I will only have my passport valid for a month, is this a problem?

Hello people,
I am getting my passport (Canada) around March but I already planned a trip to Japan around the beginning of May.
However, under section 4. Entry/Exit Requirements that I may be denied since many countries requires a passport valid for at least 6 months. While I would only have mine for 1-2 months.
Will this be a problem?

admin answers:

All the answerers except Mike-from-spain have misunderstood your question. You will have a virtually brand-new passport on you when you travel – this is fine, the “six months validity” rule applies to passports which will be EXPIRING within 6 months of your visit – the purpose of this rule is to ensure that your passport would still be valid if you were delayed in leaving the country e.g. Through illness.
