Either you’re for or against Japan. The SS is not welcomed in Japan. There are several other countries who hunt whales, why single out the Japanese ?

I doubt you flight would go anywhere near Japan on that route, and even if it was a normal part of the route, the airline & air space control organisation for that region, would re-route aircraft to avoid any risk to aircraft.

How long does it take to travel from Japan to America by boat?
admin answers:
Kenichi Horie sailed from Nishinomiya, Japan to San Francisco, USA in 1962. It took him 94 days.
In 2002, he repeated his voyage in 67 days.
In 1999, Horie sailed in the opposite direction, from San Francisco to Japan, in a boat made of 528 beer kegs (“500 of them were empty”), but he stopped by in Hawaii, so the exact number of days isn’t for a straight voyage.
A passenger cruise ship like the Queen Elizabeth II can sail from Osaka, Japan to Los Angeles, USA in 11 days, including a leisurely two night stopover in Hawaii, so an engine makes boat travel much faster.
