Go Japanese Restaurant

John asks…

Why Does the Japanese Restaurant I go to serve so much food on the House?

There’s this place I go to called in Japan, and every time I go there they give us tons of extra sushi and food =) Why do they do that? Is it just that they are kind? Or is this normal for Japanese restaurants? Is it a sort of Japanese custom?

admin answers:

It may be a way to get their customers to try new things that the customer hasn’t tried before. It also may be a way to get customers reactions to recipes the restaurant hasn’t tried before. It also entices customers to come back.

Maria asks…

When you go to a Japanese restaurant, how many “rolls” should 1 person order for themselves?

Would 1 roll be enough for one person if they don’t order anything else?

admin answers:

Sushi rolls? I usually order 2 or 3, then if I’m still hungry I order more until I’m full. Just pay attention to the size and price. Some rolls are smaller, while others may be a lot thicker or filling. It really just depends on how hungry you are and how much you are willing to spend.

Sandra asks…

my boyfriend asked his ex-gf to go out to dinner in japanese restaurant?

he said he hasnt seen her for quite some time. they’re still good friends.
comments?

admin answers:

What is the problem? My ex is one of my best friends. I am with my current gf for over 6 years. She knows about my ex, she never questions. I love everything about her, she is the one I want to be with. Had she doubted me, I don’t think we’d be going out for this long.

Do yourself a favor and ignore those comments about dumping him or he is cheating. Those comments (being insecured) are the reasons so many people have to keep looking for a new relationship. I am not saying there is no cheater. If he really wants to cheat, he doesn’t have to just cheat with his ex. If I were you, I wouldn’t worry about that at all. They get along well, that means they are already too comfortable as friends, there’s less chance for a spark. If he hates her, that’s more dangerous because he is still emotional.

You know your boyfriend damn well, you love him, and you’d better trust him. There is a reason she is the history. IF he really wants to be with her, you can’t do anything about it. Let him go. If he comes back to you, he’s yours. Give yourself a chance to find out if he is totally dedicated to you. You can’t have the same doubt again and again forever, can you?

Betty asks…

How do I say “When can we go to the Japanese restaurant?” in Japanese?

admin answers:

Itsu ano nihonshokuya or nihonno restoran ni ikeru ?
This is how you would say it if you’re having a conversation with your family , friends and co-wokers. Ikemasuka? Instead of ikeru ? Is more texbook way.

“koko ra hen ni wafoo restoran wa ari masuka? “means
” Is there any japanese restaurant around here?” in English

Tour Of Japan Golf

George asks…

Q-school qualifying question?

i know i just asked a question but i just was thinking of another

i was reading around for the heck of things and on pga’s website when submitting an online registration for q-school, it says…

If you have not played in the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament in the last five (5) years (2006-2010) or are not exempt to Second or Final Qualifying Stage you are REQUIRED to submit the following information for a person that will attest that your character and golf ability are such to play the PGA TOUR. The reference person must be a member of or work for one of the following organizations:
PGA of America (Class A), PGA TOUR, Nationwide Tour, Champions Tour, PGA European Tour, Japan Golf Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia, Sunshine Tour, Asian Tour, Canadian Tour, Tour de las Americas.

just curious, what if ur really good and better than scratch, and u dont know anybody who can varify for you? is there anything else you can do?

admin answers:

It’s pretty unlikely that someone good enough to play on Tour doesn’t know a PGA Club Pro. If you’re good enough to play on Tour then you’ve been playing competitive golf, so you’ll know someone on that list who can attest to your ability.

Sandy asks…

How come Obama is cut and running again to avoid supporting our troops in Afghanistan?

Obama leaves tomorrow for a trip to China, Singapore, Japan and South Korea, his first journey to Asia as president. Jeff Bader, senior director for Asia at the National Security Council, said in a briefing for reporters Nov. 9 that the president would consult with allies on aid to Afghanistan.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=aPYObc2T5tMc

Singapore – 9 troops, as of October 22 2009. In May 2007, a five-man medical team was sent to central Afghanistan to set up and run a dental clinic serving local citizens, while training Afghans in dentistry so that they could eventually assume responsibility.

A Dental Clinic? what is the “chosen one” going to ask for 5 for Dentists? what a joke

China – 0 troops
Japan – 0 troops
South Korea – South Korea’s 210-strong contingent was withdrawn by 14 December 2007 due to the expiration of its mandate, despite American calls for its continued presence.

Canada – 2,830 troops and Canada has announced that it will withdraw the bulk of its troops from Afghanistan in 2011. In September 2008, Conservative leader Stephen Harper pledged that Canada will withdraw the bulk of its military forces in Afghanistan in 2011, saying a decade at war is enough. He acknowledged that neither the Canadian public nor the troops themselves had any appetite to stay longer in the war and said that only a small group of advisers might remain.

So Obama ignores going to Canada, ever wonder why?

So what does the “brilliant” war strategist do, go to get more Dentists in Japan, beg on his knees for China to help him,( ain’t gonna happen), and then go beg some more with S.Korea for what? 210 more troops? (S.Korea has N.Korea to deal with, you remember, the bad guys that Obama is ignoring and hope will go away)

So lets sum this up, 5 Dentists and maybe a handful of “advisors” thats about it, meanwhile in the real world, Gen McChrystal is still waiting and waiting and waiting for “golden boy” to get off the hoop court, the golfing tour, and his world wide apology tour, Obama is a pathetic excuse for our President to say the least or to be “political correct”

His back is SOOO up against the wall after Fort Hood. My husband is military. I would absolutely REFUSE to meet with that liar if Tim had been a victim of that Islamic LUNATIC’S terror. It is terrorism in every sense of the word. When are we going to call a spade a spade? Oh heck, not what I meant. However, this is the MOST attention he has paid to our soldiers since he was campaigning. He makes me ill.

And btw, he can campaign at the Berlin Wall, but not go there on the 20th anniversary and acknowledge Ronald Reagan’s role in the fall of Communism?

He wants Communism.

Can the R9 improve its forgiveness while incorporating several characteristics of a classic golf club? Can a game-improvement club have a soft feel? Since the initial announcement, the forum has been buzzing with golfers interested in whether the R9s can truly live up to those expectations.

Like the r7, the clubface of the R9 uses the inverted cone technology on the inner side of the clubface for consistent ball speed on off-center hits. Using that as their foundation, the new R9 irons long and mid irons were designed separately from the short irons to optimize performance in each club.

admin answers:

I think you may need to refer to the community guidelines. Dining out may not be the best category for a decision about golf clubs. I think you may be just a little off topic.

Mark asks…

please help me get rid of this set! do you know any other sites where i can post my ad?

i already posted at http://www.phadpost.com/ph/sports_games/1734/_mizuno_female_club_set_pink_club_set_brand_new_golf_clubs_golf_club_mizuno_for_sale_laguna/ and sulit.com.ph. i would also like to post at ebay but for some unknown reasons, my safari closes when i open the site (uh-oh. gotta use another computer).

–authentic golf clubs forged by Mizuno Japan.

it’s really annoying because nobody’s buying it though it’s really cheap now. sheez. they just don’t know what they’re missing.

i also don’t feel like selling my clubs but i have to because i won’t be using them anymore. i can’t just give it away because my pride as a business student will be shattered (at least, a 50%+ net loss is better than nothing in return). sheez!

i bought my set for 70k just months ago and now, i’m selling it for 40k. but because buyers still think that it’s expensive, i’m giving it away for only 34k –and STILL NEGOTIABLE. i’m also gonna give some “k” to those who can help me sell it. hmh, not good enough?

i already asked my former golf coaches and some tour pro friends to help me dispose my brand new set. omg. too bad they suck in marketing –just like me.

please help me out. any other site you know?

thanks.

Tours In Japan Guided

Joseph asks…

How much would I need to SAVE to Go to JAPAN?

I would like to visit Japan for about 2 or 3 weeks with a friend(s). Also what is a good place to stay how much would it cost for the hotel and how much would it cost me to get a tour guide? Also i would like more Information on the places that i should visit. But if you have other answers that has nothing to do with my questions pls feel free to Inform me.
( I live in the South/East of U.S.A)

admin answers:

You should go to a travel agency to find all this out.
Or http://www.expedia.com/default.asp (you can look up activities, compare hotel and flight prices, etc.)
The price of airline tickets depends on when you’re going. Usually summer time is when prices are highest.

Some fun places I recommend going:
Studio Ghibli Museum (creator of totoro)
Tokyo Disneyland
Shrines and Temples
Zoo or Aquariums (the ones in Japan are amazing)

Donna asks…

Meeting people in Japan please help?

I want to meet people in japan like online and talk to them and make friends so i can have friends in japan when i visit. i aslo would like to know about any tour guides that can take me where ever i japan i wanna go

How about YouTube Japan?

You can find the person’s favorites and check if he / she is not a pervert or something when you watch his / her channel and you can send E-mail through YouTube.

Japanese chat room is not safe these days.
Some people were killed by strangers who they met in free chat room.
We Japanese people usually chat in members only chat room that you need to be introduced by an original member.

Ordinary Japanese people are so shy and don’t speak English so well that we don’t make friends through internet.
But if it is YouTube, you can talk about some musician or something with someone who likes same person.
And you can find Japanese person who write and understand English well.
My YouTube friend will come over to Japan to go to a concert with me shortly.

Maria asks…

how can i get jop in japan ? i need someone gaive me jop ?

um married from japanese girl
have residance for 3 years in japan living and working visa .
um 23 years old and i can speak english good and japanese too.
i worked in egypt as tour guide and arabic teacher and english teacher.
i worked as sales man in many egyptian and international shops.

admin answers:

You can always try construction work!
Doesn’t pay as much as it used to but still it’s good honest work!

Not to mock you but the reason why I checked your question was because I wanted to find out what a jop was. Thought it was new slang. I don’t think teaching english is an option for you. Probably 90% of Japanese highschool kids have better grammer and spelling than you do. Not to be mean just giving you the hard truth. Good luck with the job hunting.
Bar-tending is also a potential job if you speak english.

Anyone know about the Lavender Festival?

I went to Japan in 2002 and the tour guide brought us to the Lavender Festival. I forgot the exact place but I know that it’s near Mount Fuji.
Anyone knows the exact city and when it usually held?

admin answers:

I think that is Kawaguchi-Ko (Lake Kawaguchi) Lavender Festival.
It’s usually held around end of June till end of July at Yagisaki Park in Fuji Kawaguchi-Ko.

Tickets To Japan From Usa

Maria asks…

I need to know if they will let me go to Philippines from USA with a ticket thats 31 days round trip?

Japan Air Lines gave me the cheep-est ticket 2 Manila but its 31 days round trip.can i get a visa to stay longer once i get there or do i have to mail everything to Chicago & get it be for i leave ? terrygil@yahoo.com
the big question is will they let my go there with a ticket thats 31 days round trip 1 friend told me they checked his ticket & ask 2 see his extension visa B-4 he could fly.
I was told at the air port in Chicago I could have gotten the exstion there for $50. I already sent mine in 2 Chicago.now waiting 4 it to get back.but U must have it if ur ticket is over 21 days .

admin answers:

I stayed i Manila for 6 months and Im only suppose to be there for 2 weeks. This is a year ago. The immigration in the Manila is not that strict pal. Just have fun there and dont panic… They want you to over stay in Manila believe me. Plus even if you overstay… They will ask you why>? I just told them coz I like it so much and I want to comeback also… Thats it..

Money works in Manila always.

Or if you want to be Nerdy or by the book. Once u land in Manila by the immigration officer. Let them know wanna stay more than 21 days and they will grant it. Easy.

Laura asks…

How much does it cost to go to Japan?

My sister and I have just started a small comic book business- it’s rough but things are going. To reward ourselves further down the line we’ve decided, as a goal, that we’d like to save up for a trip to Japan. We know it’s going to take awhile- quite awhile, but still it’s something to aim for.

In short: How much does a flight from Michigan USA to anywhere in Japan cost? I’m looking for rough estimates. We know we’ll have to save up a little extra for while we’re there. I’m thinking of a round trip ticket, staying for a week or two.

admin answers:

Air fare: You need $1000-1500 if you are departing from US

Hotel: Usually, you need $100 per night if you want to stay at a hotel.
If you want to save money, you need to stay at a hostel which will cost $30-50 per night.
If you want to stay at a luxury hotel, you need $200-300 or more.

Food, transportation and others: You need $50-100 or so per day. If you want to enjoy shopping, you need more.

So you need $100 for hotel and $75 for others per day. If you want to stay in Japan for 2 weeks, the total cost will be $2450.

Ken asks…

question about costs to fly to japan?

im trying to save up for money to fly to japan to see family i havent seen in over 10 years. im flying from MA, usa and the cost per person is about 1,500 for just the plane tickets (round trip) so i need to save like 5 to 6 thousand just for the plane tickets bc its going to be me and my 2 young children. i dont need money for hotels etc bc my mom has 5 sister and a lot of family out there but how much should i save for spending money? i want to stay there at least 2 or 3 months. thanks.

admin answers:

Just in average, you may try to consider US$40/person/day for meal. Add US$60/person/time to go anywhere far from your own depot(traffic and fares) and US$100/person/time to stay outside of house, too.
Souvenirs and luxurious extra parts may vary by your own decision.

Donald asks…

I want to go to japan, can someone help?

Okay in my last question, http://ph.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101115032458AAfpc10&r=w I asked if i when i did go to japan what would i need before i get there…appearently i left out some important details…When i go to japan i was planning on staying there…not round trip one way and i want to know what i would have to do since i want to stay there…and plus, I’m from arkansas usa if you all wanted to know….so i realize I need a passport and a plane ticket but I REALLY need to know about the shots….and where would i go to get the passport??? thanks in advanced.
I want to go to japan NOT because i’m a fucking wanna be emo. I DON’T BELIVE IN STEREOTYPES! I want to go there cause my friend/brother (not my blood brother) moved there with his parents a little while ago and when i go over there i want to stay cause i’m happier with him than i am even i am home. So you know what davy or what ever the hell your name is FUCK YOU. you don’t know why i want to go over and NEVER call me emo again… I’M NOT EMO DAMMIT. I don’t know why it says philippines but i’m from ARKANSAS i don’t know how to change it…

admin answers:

Are you sure you are from Arkansas because the site said you are asking this from “yahoo philippines”?? You can’t get help if you won’t be honest.
And it seems you really have no idea, zero knowledge, about travelling because you don’t even know what passport is.
My suggestion, coordinate with your family or friends about this. Because going to Japan is not just like going to California. And you’ll also need thousands of dollars for your plane tickets and to support your stay here in Japan.

Tour Of Japan

Carol asks…

What is the average amount in US dollars it would take for a tour of Japan?

I’m just looking for a round about amount. I already know for two people, round trip flights would be around $6,000. But, for the sake of planning for savings, how much would it be to take a tour of the country and stay for about 2-3 weeks? And any advice? Thanks!! =)

admin answers:

With the yen so strong, I’d say plan about $250 a day per person for a basic, adult tour. (Ie: staying in business hotels instead of youth hostels and sneaking overnights in public baths.) Japanese hotels tend to charge per person, so there isn’t that much savings for two travelling over one. My estimate includes hotel (10,000 yen), food (3000 yen), transportation (2000 — some days you’ll have more and some days you’ll have less), entry fees (3000 yen) and miscellaneous shopping.

If you can do a homestay program, you’ll save on hotels, and get to see more of the culture — but you’ll have to bring a nice gift for your hosts. If you can find good deals in hotels, then my estimate is pretty high. With the disaster and everything, things might be a little cheaper than usual on the tourism front.

(BTW, I think your plane tickets are a little high. You might check and see if you can move your trip a few weeks, and see if you can get out of a peak season.)

Mary asks…

what are some of the tour groups that set fixed rates to tour japan from the states?

yeah college student that wants to visit japan with a tour group

admin answers:

I don’t think there is some fixed price tour to Japan. The tour price always fluctuates.

You can look for a tour on this JTB, a Japanese travel agency, site.

Daniel asks…

Anyone know any good tour groups/companies for a first trip to Japan?

My parents want to give me a tour of Japan for my graduation, and I have no idea which company to go with.

admin answers:

Where are you going? What do you want to see? One site that is helpful is the one for Japan Airlines. They have some set tours that are pretty nice. Go to the link below and click the place on the right that says “vacation packages.” Japan is very beautiful and a glorious place to visit. I had my own tour guide, my soon to be wife who is from Osaka, so I got to know Japan from an insiders view. I also suggest buying a travel guide. One I like is the one from Lonely Planet. Their link is below too. Have fun. I hope you have a great trip. New guides come out every October for Japan from Lonely Planet.

James asks…

Does anyone here know where I could find out about the George Foster Tour of Japan?

I reciently read a review of it on the Wrestling Observer website, and it sounded like a wrestling fan’s dream.

Going to puro shows at the Nippon Budokan and Tokyo Dome, meeting legends of the business, eating at wrestling-themed steak houses and shopping at wrestling themed stores.

Does anyone know if it’s an annual thing, or if it was just a one time deal?

Also, were could I find some more info out about it?

admin answers:

I’m sorry I don’t know, but I haven’t heard of George Foster either.
